OA-01

Available end 2025

OA-01 was born from a simple idea: to create a foldable stool with a strong aerospace and robotic identity. This direction came naturally — shaped by my background in engineering and a long-standing fascination with movement and machines. Airplanes, space rockets, robots — I’ve always been drawn to objects in motion. And at some point, I felt the need to channel that fascination into a physical object. That object became this stool.

The legs of OA-01 are directly inspired by the lightweight seat structures found in airplanes. Designed with strategic cutouts and weight-saving patterns, they reduce material where it’s not needed — keeping the stool both strong and light. These patterns not only serve a structural purpose but also create a unique visual signature that gives OA-01 its distinctive character.

To extend the legs from their folded to unfolded position, spiral springs are used. These springs ensure a smooth, controlled, and automatic deployment, making the unfolding experience feel mechanical yet effortless — a subtle nod to robotic motion and engineered precision.

In keeping with the logic of lightweight construction, the material of choice is 6061 aluminum alloy — known for its strength-to-weight ratio and excellent mechanical properties. This alloy reinforces the stool’s technical and precise nature.

And yet, for all its influence and intention, OA-01 remains humble. It folds. It stands. It serves. It aspires to be a sophisticated robotic dog — but it’s just a stool. Nothing more, nothing less.
